Scavenged part from a £1 mouse

Hi all,

I want to use the the Emitters & Receivers I scavenged from a really cheap mouse.

It has two sets of LED's:

Set1: Clear in colour > 2 pins
Set2: Dark/Black > 3 pins

My question is: How would I go about connecting a set to the Arduino.

Clear in colour > 2 pins

So, three pins? Four?
