School bus to display pedestrian crossing

I am planning to create an IOT based solution for a school bus to display pedestrian crossing on roads through any lighting methods while stopping the bus for dropping kids.

@pdurgaramesh,

Your topic was moved to its current location as it is more suitable.

Could you also take a few moments to Learn How To Use The Forum.

It will help you get the best out of the forum in the future.

It helps if you ask a question...

Thank you

Excellent!

do you have a question?

Do you mean to project an image of a pedestrian crossing on the road surface while the bus is stopped? Is this for night only or does it have to be clearly seen in daylight?

Recent events in Thailand have shown it's not the crossing which needs illuminating but rather the brain cells of the drivers.
Way too many road signs around as it is (often referred to as signage pollution) and no one watching where they are going if they read them all.

I am looking for a guidance to create this project, as I am new to this platform

It should work on Daylight, since school bus will be dropping or picking kids during the morning and evening hours before sunset.

OK, have another go at explaining what it is you want to do - in detail.

I am looking for Arduino projects with supporting hardware that meet the following requirements

  1. Whenever a bus stops to drop or pick up kids, it should project a pedestrian crossing so other vehicles can stop and help the kids cross
  2. During daylight hours, it is mandatory to work
  3. The driver will be able to initiate the projection by pressing a button

As I am unsure of which lighting method will be able to project pedestrian crossings in daylight

Lasers

So you want the crossing lines / stripes to appear on the road just like a permanent one but except only while the bus is there? Whatever approach you use, eg lasers as just suggested, how will you stop it blinding people who might be in the path of the light when it's turned on, or if it reflects off a car window?

Where does the IoT fit into this project?

Are you planning to create project yourself or looking for other's projects ready to go?

Not blinding people was not in the list of requirements :joy:

You jest, but I have worked at places where the devs are so detached from the real world, that they would actually says shit like that for real

.

Projection in daylight on a usually black surface (the road) is probably not a winning idea in my opinion

As a beginning user of this platform, I am creating this project for myself to gain some experience

Also is it legal to display your own Road markings on public roads? I would have thought some variation on the children crossing indication fixed to the bus would be best.

With IoT, buses can be automated in many ways, such as GPS, access control and sensors.

As an add-on feature, I would like to add this projection display
