I am currently building my first Arduino Project.
It uses some 74HC565 shiftregisters to drive some LEDs which turn on and of in different cycles.
I've seen that there is a special LED driver Chip the sct2024cstg that acts like a shiftregister and can give a regulated mA Output to all of its 16 Channels.
Because that's my first project i try everything with breadboards. Are there any alternative ICs that can drive 8 to 16 Leds and that are available as a through hole variant?, because the sct2024cstg seems only to be available as an smd chip.
I am really new to the stuff and build my first project on the bread boards and now i want to solder it on a tht board.
after that i want to optimize it with led drivers instead of the standard shiftregisters and resistors between the leds.
i think i'll get the DM13A.
After that i want to create a custom pcb and solder it with these smd components but i think i'll need more experience for that.
are there different versions of the sct2024cstg for example with different leg widths so that i can create i bcp that is more friendly to solder the smds on?
