I think I follow, but the wibble device with the wobbulator interface may be using a non standard spiffle protocol.

I too have been working on a similar project, but for the spiffle I used a 7% window of reading. When I tried going with the normal 3% F.S. it left purfling in the data stream.

so, in the end, sinusoidal depleneration is the root problem.

if you can get it to work. let us know how you were able to compensate for modial interaction of magneto-reluctance and capacitive diractance.
