SD card not present

I’ve read several times people have problems with the SD card initialisation. So do I.
I’m not a computer/ programming expert. Purely hobby.

I’ve a original MEGA 2560 R3 and a Itead SD stackable SD shield.
So no loose wiring for the SD shield.

When i upload the example sketch cardinfo, and execute it, i get the error:
Initializing SD card…initialization failed. Things to check:

  • is a card is inserted?
  • Is your wiring correct?
  • did you change the chipSelect pin to match your shield or module?

First answer is a card inserted, Yes DaneElec 2GB and formatted with SDFormatter V4.0

Is my wiring correct: Huh, there is no wiring, beacause its a stackable board! I read that there are other pins on a Mega (50 till 53) for adressing SD cards. But this is for breakout boards. Not for stackable boards? Or do i have to make a connection form pin 50 to 11 on the SD stackable board? Not tried because i think i get some magic blue smoke for short wiring ?

An other question, the Mega has an ICSP header, and the Itead SD shield has one also. I assumed this was the plug and play connection for this between the two boards. Am i wrong? Or what is it used for?

On other pages there are treads for another solotion: software remapping off the pins. How to accomplish that? Because there are no defining pins for MOSI / MISO / CLK and CS in the example sketch.

Is there somebody out there, who can help me out?
