Searching for a strong Photo detector sensor

Hi,
I'm searching for a strong Photo detector sensor, similar the one I'm attaching here:

I was hoping to get some recommendations.
I want to use the sensor in an environment which has water around it,
and I was thinking of placing a transparent plastic to avoid damage to the sensor.
However this reduces the sensor capabilities.

Since it is sensitive to visible light having a transparent plastic window over it should not degrade the sensitivity by a significant amount.

Hi,
There's nothing STRONG about those and their very cheap from China via eBay. I think I got 12 for a £1.00 inc postage, that makes Sparkfun expensive as usual.
