Does anyone know where I can get extremely low or ultra low (crystal, ceramic, whatever) and receivers at?

I'm looking to transmit and receive a signal that will penetrate 6-12ft of earth, so maybe using between 1Hz and 1KHz should work.

SparkFun has a great programmable Oscillator:

... but no receivers for any of their transmitters.

Does anyone know of any websites that sell a combo set; preferably programmable too?

Generating ULF radio is possible, sending data with it is an interesting and tough project. Good luck.

Thanks for those links. They are very helpful but I can't find anything that sells transmitters or receivers.

I guess I could use a Oscilloscope(?) to receive the signal, but I don't need something that ... resourceful.

This is kind of a like a beacon indicator, where the transmitter will be in an unknown location and you hold a receiver that will help you locate it.

Obviously, I have never touched anything like this so I'm fumbling in the dark with this -- please excuse what may be glaring ignorance to what might be the most common sense for you experienced folks.
