"Security update required" Mkr wifi 1010 wont go online in cloud editor

I'm getting this error on my mkr wifi 1010

"Security update required
This device won't be able to connect due to obsolete firmware. Please upload your sketch via USB to apply the latest security patches."

I've uploaded the sketch with usb via the online sketch editor with no luck. in the devices menu it says my device has "connectivity module firmware 2.0.0" and needs to be updated. when trying to update i follow all the instructions but it says it cant find the board even though it can upload to the board and read the serial monitor.
I've tried multiple things and its crucial i can get the board back online asap

I would not assume the online would work, use the IDE.

i have used the IDE firmware updater to update firmware. i need it to go online so i can use it remotely.
