Seeedstudio Solar Charge Shield

Hey, I just bought a second solar shield and lipo for my 2nd Adruino making them both portable, i was wondering if the 2 solar shields would work stacked on top of each other thus doubling the capacity from 1000mah to 2000mah. Thanks

You might want to contact seeedstudio and ask (or hope he sees it here); it doesn’t appear that they sell this product anymore…?

Thanks crosh, i did have a look at the seeedstudio site forum but i didn't post as it means signing up to yet another forum, i was only wondering if they would work together as one or whether they would interfere with each other because of the way the charging circuit works

That's why I was checking to see if a datasheet existed or a manual; but I couldn't find the product (is is discontinued? dunno). Since you bought it, though, send an email to them direct (if they have such a thing?); let them know you purchased it, and have that question. If they are good about it, they should answer you.

You might also see if you can find a post by the guy who runs seeedstudio here, and then PM him; tell him you have a small question about one of his products, and if he could answer it. If he responds, then good - if not (or if he demures), then try the forum or direct contact (he may not like PMs for answering support issues).

Where is the solar panel located? Would stacking the shields block the solar panel on one?

I found it at RobotShop. Interesting idea.

@PaulS, They are refered to as solar charge shields but can be charged through on board usb socket or any external source up to 6v, im just using them as a portable power supply for my duino's, the solar pannels are on flyleads so wont get in the way of the duino. here is the board http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Arduino-Solar-Shield-LiPO-battery-charger-supply-/110554295768?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19bd8cadd8#ht_500wt_947 and lipo battery http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LIPo-Battery-1050mAh-Arduino-Solar-Shield-etc-/110554295836?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19bd8cae1c#ht_500wt_947 I have bought from this seller on two occasions both times with next day delivery and no problems at all, check his feedback, my ebay name is sootycat2004
