Selected port is currently closing popup

Hi I am new and playing around wit some sketches and soddenly when I select the serial monitor I get his popup that says Selected port is currently closing
Any ideas on what could be this issue?

I don't recall seeing such a popup before.

Which Arduino development tool are you using?:
