Hi,
I have a selfmade board based on the arduino due.
When i got the board in i tested them by connecting the usb to a PC.
The PC doesn't detect the board at all i have no sound from windows that a usb device is connected.
The power led and L led lights up
For what i can find the 16u2 schould be preloaded from factory so it schould popup in windows correct?
I try'd to load it with a adruino uno as ISP on the icsp connector of my board.
avrdude.exe -C avrdude.conf -c arduino -P COM3 -b 19200 -p m16u2 -vvv -U flash:w:Arduino-DUE-usbserial-prod-firmware-2013-02-05.hex:i
this returns:
avrdude.exe: Device signature = 0x000000
avrdude.exe: Yikes! Invalid device signature.
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
sometimes it gives:
avrdude.exe: Device signature = 0xffffff
avrdude.exe: Yikes! Invalid device signature.
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
or:
avrdude.exe: Device signature = 0x7f7f7f
avrdude.exe: Expected signature for ATmega16U2 is 1E 94 89
Double check chip, or use -F to override this check.
This is the first time i am doing this and my lack of knowledge holds me back to find out what the problem is.
if a stock 16u2 chip should alway popup in windows as a usb device i would say its a hardware error.
i have 2 board both do the same.
attached the schematic of the 16u2.
Crystal that is use is a 581-CX3225GB16DHEQCC
I hope someone can help me out on where to start.
Any help is appreciated!
