Send serial data to o micro-controller over Arduino

Hello, I have an old robot (like a rover). for programming the robot there is a software for making the codes and then it transfers the code to robot using serial port, the serial cable has only 2 wires on the end which connects to robot. as my laptop doesn't have serial port I was looking for a way to send these codes to robot. I found that connecting RESET to GND can help somehow doing this but as I'm not so good in computers I don't know exactly how to upload my simple code to my robot using my ESP8266 Module.

link to the description of your robot?
A picture of the cable and the connector?
What type of code upload?
anything more than what you posted could probably help someone help you...

here are images from its board and a screenshot of the programming software

Thank you

any link ? "roboro" does not return much... probably something defunct... would be interesting to first listen to whatever the "programmer" sends to translate the program into orders

Hi,
Have you tried a USB to RS232 converter cable?
