Send some recorded voice(mp3 file) through phone line

hi,

i want to send some recorded voice in sd card(mp3 file) through phone line , my arduino should call with receiver and when receiver press number 1 my arduino should send 1.mp3 to it
how must do it?which Equipment is best for this?

If this is for 'cold calling' (nuisance calls), don't expect any help here.

You want a thing called a "voice modem" - this is a modem with audio input and output jacks. Generally it is intended to connect to the sound card on a PC, but you can use it with any other device.

Old modems, while no longer used much, are still floating around. One important use is as Fax modems connected to the PC to avoid the utter stupidity of printing faxes on paper in any fashion.

Whilst there are complexities of interfacing to a "voice modem", not only is this more practical than attempting to build it yourself, but it is illegal to construct your own device and connect it to the telephone line.

Hey there - just came across this and was hoping you were able to give me a little info as well. I'm looking to do the same thing for a game. It won't be hooked up to a phone line. I basically want there to be clues and passwords given when the correct numbers are dialed through a phone. So I want to upload mp3's to an arduino and assign each one a 10 digit number so when that number is dialed - the person who dialed correctly gets a clue.

Is that possible? How would I build this?
