send wireless or rf signal to receiver (to light up or make a noise)

I am looking for advice on the hardware to get for building a simple transmitter to send an rf or wireless signal to a receiver for which the receiver beeps or vibrates or lights up
I am very new to coding and would appreciate any advice

A tip is to simply put the title of your post into Google, adding Arduino,

For instance if you Google;

'arduino send wireless or rf signal to receiver'

You will find some simple tutorials.

This Simple nRF24L01+ Tutorial may be of interest. A pair of nRF24s may be overkill for your project, but they are cheap and reliable.

You say wireless or rf, saying to me that although rf is wireless (usually anyway), not all wireless is rf. So what about an led and an ldr, or an ir led and a photodiode, or an ir led with a carrier to a Visjat oops Vishay TSOPxxxx style receiver?
