Sending Arduino Sensor Data to Smartphone

I am currently working on this project. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Receive-Arduino-Sensor-Data-on-Your-Android/
However when I upload the code, it uploads successfully then reads device reads

Arduino: 1.8.4 (Windows 10), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Uno"

Sketch uses 2832 bytes (8%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes.
Global variables use 160 bytes (7%) of dynamic memory, leaving 1888 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes.

The app also reads Bluetooth cannot connect. The device I am uploading it to is a very old samsung tablet and I am wondering if this is why the BLE won't sync. Will it work better with an android phone?

As for your upload problem you have obviously selected the wrong COM port Tools=>Port.

Unplug the Arduino from the USB cable and examine the ports available in Tools=>Port.

Then plug the Arduino in and examine the contents of Tools=>Port.

You will soon figure out which is the correct COM port.

As for the bluetooth issue....you need to first pair with the HC-05 module in the Bluetooth settings of your mobile phone. Then the COM port will be open between the app running on your mobile phone and the arduino.
