sending from remote location

I want to dial out on a phone.
Lift the handset, then send the tones to dial.
Then, connect to a remove fax machine.
Then, send data to that machine so that it will be printed.

I have a remote cabin that has a phone line. I may be able to use one of the neighbors wi-fi as a guest if there is a way to search for an available link, then send an e-mail on that ?? I do not think I could get a password for access.

I also want a million dollars.

Anyone know how I can make either of these happen ?

The second one is easy. Get a job paying $10 an hour, and work for 100,000 hours.

The first will be a bit tougher.

OK, so the real questions are two.

can we send out the tones that would replicate a fax machine ?
that way, a simple hello world or it is 50 degrees could be sent.

second is about tapping into any available wi-fi without prior having to set up passwords and such ?

I guess for my wild card question, I only have to work another 71,000 hours......

Using what hardware?

Look for a DTMF library for the Arduino.

Nope. Not going there.

Presumably you want this to be done automatically rather than manually. The easiest way to do that is to get a PC or laptop with fax/modem capabilities.

I found a couple low cost devices that will dial a phone. since one has to have a license device to tie into a phone system, this can do that interface.

and

if I can replace their sensor with my inputs, then I can at least get the dial out to a cell phone. not the full message I want, but the first step.

I do not want to do anything illegal. many wi-fi units have provisions for either guest or are just open. a wi-fi hotspot.
I thought there may be a way to see a connection, test it to see if it needs a password, then if it does, try a different one until an open connection is found.
