I am currently trying to stabilize a tall tower by using a RC Servo motor to correct the tower at all times to keep the tower within +- 0.065 Degrees. I understand this is a tight measurement, and looking for the right way to sense the angle very accurately. The tower is on a moving, robotic base and will always stay parallel to gravity. The tower is pinned and can only move left or right. I was wanting to place a MPU-6050 accelerometer/gyro combo to measure the angle at the top of the tower, and essentially make a balancing robot.
Any thoughts on accuracy and if the application is possible?
