Separable headers ?

Hi, I'm an Arduino begginner and I need some headers for my project.

I don't have them yet, so I need to buy them and I've looked at those ones :

I actually need them to be separable to use them. The answer is maybe obvious but I don't know that much. So I need to know if those ones are separable or not.

Thanks !

If you are asking whether you can plug them together and take them apart then the answer is YES. However I would try to limit a group to a max of 8 pins so that it is not too difficult to separate them.

Or if you mean can you break or cut the headers so that you have the number of pins that you want, the male right angle headers look breakable (separable), the female not so much. I use a saw to cut the female headers to the length that I need then a emery board to clean up the cut ends.

I use some wire cutters to cut the female headers to size. Note that you will always lose one pin at the cut. I like to buy the 40 pin female headers so that I can cut them down to any size I like, rather than having to keep each of the pre-made sizes in stock.

I've never seen dupont style female headers that are separable.

Maybe a little bit, but mostly so they fit next to each other on a male header.
