separate stereo output l & r

hi so new to world of anything electronic. i want to basically trigger the l and r of a stereo audio separately and have the second waveform sync up with the first no matter the time it was triggered. each wave form would be triggered by its own motion sensor. i believe this to be a question about programing and code question. hardware (arduino uno & basic sparkfun mp3 player shield (w/ VS1053B)

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'sync up' (are both channels outputting the same waveform?) but if you start both streams at the same time you could just use the channel volume controls to mute either stream when you didn't want it?

yes both channels are outputting the same waveform. however, each waveform is triggered by a separate motion sensor. i am making an interactive sound piece where a person walks into a medium-sized room, triggers a speaker on their left, walks further into the room, and triggers a speaker on their right. the sound coming from the speakers need to be 'synched' up so that there is a surround-sound-type experience and not an echo or something. does that make sense?

Seems reasonable to me, and I think you could achieve what you want by using the channel volume controls to control the two speakers.
