Serial communication with DOS-running computer

Hello All.
Does any way to subj exist?
I know FreeDOS is capable for TCP/IP networking, and I can communicate with Arduino via Wiznet/ENC28 ethernet shields, is this the only way, or not?

Ideally, I'm looking for FreeDOS device driver for WCH CH340, cheap USB-Serial converter chip.

Maybe switch to Linux - problem gone.

Or learn Windows Powershell.

Does that work on a PC running DOS?

It is no more DOS than Linux.

I doubt there is CH340 driver for FreeDOS. Just brief search but I didn't find on google. In any case you can write it yourself if you are enthusiast about FreeDOS.

Does that mean that your Reply #2 was a smart*rse response to to my suggestion to use Linux?

If so, I don't understand why. There is no CH340 driver problem with Linux and Puppy Linux (for example) will run on PCs with very limited hardware.
