Finally figured it out!!! I needed a while loop in the processing code to check the port in SerialEvent(). I'm not really sure why, but I think it has something to do with the fact that it now always tries to read the data as long as myPort.available() is more then 0. Thanks everyone for your help…

Yes...use the pins 14 to 23 and see. Do not use the Tx/Rx pins for anything other than serial comm...
