Finally figured it out!!! I needed a while loop in the processing code to check the port in SerialEvent(). I'm not really sure why, but I think it has something to do with the fact that it now always tries to read the data as long as myPort.available() is more then 0. Thanks everyone for your help…

Which board are you using?

Are you trying to find out is if any of the wires connected to pins 0 to 12 are touching each other, right?
