serial monitor basics

hey guys,i have a few questions .plse answer them thanks
how to store serial input (from at command) in a buffer?
is there a way to store only the first input and not the rest?
is there a way to do comparison with the first value with the new value?
if possible is there a way to change the buffer value with the new value (if a particular condition is met)and after that do comparison again and again?
thanks in advance and please send me the code of the questions above thanks

The answer to all of your questions is yes it is possible.

I do not write code for people who do not pay me. If you want ready made code sent to you then post this in gigs and colaborations and I'll gladly set you a price. Otherwise you need to give it a good try and the nice folks here, myself included, will help you get it right. I think a trip to good ole Google should be your first stop.

This is another good place to start... http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=288234.0

This is the reference for the Serial library : http://arduino.cc/en/reference/serial

Have a look at the readBytes() and readBytesUntil() functions, and have a look at the examples.

thanks everone. will try on my own.thanks again
