Serial Monitor continues with error messages after disconnecting the controller

I playd with a Nano 33 IOT (this will run).

  • Running a program with output to the Serial monitor, it works.
  • After disconnectiong the Nano, the Monitor runs with periodical error messages.
    How can I stop the Serial monotor in this condition?

OK, there is a menu entry unter "Tools" that stops the Monitor.

I'll mention a couple other ways to close Serial Monitor in case others might find one of them more convenient:

  • Click the "X" on the "Serial Monitor" tab.
  • Click the magnifying glass button near the top right corner of the Arduino IDE 2.x window (it toggles it open and closed).
