Serial plotter x-axis too limited

Could not find any post on this topic so created this one.
It seems IDE 2.x serial plotter x-axis is now limited to 50 points. I do not consider this to be an improvement as I really miss the 1.x 500 points. So went back to 1.8.19.
Any idea if/when the 500 points will come back?

Reasonably sure it has been mentioned on the forum. There is an 'official' request for improvement here: Allow display of more data points in Serial Plotter · Issue #803 · arduino/arduino-ide · GitHub

Request 1.5 year oldI saw. Seems to have no prio. Is OK. Perfectly happy with 1.8.19
