This thread helped me in 2018 with a microsoft surface pro 4!!! Thanks to CH341SER.EXE - 南京沁恒微电子股份有限公司, despite it's dodgy chinese everywhere, I downloaded the exe and ran it and I now have com ports showing!!!!!
