Serial Port...

I just got my first Arduino Uno. I plugged it into my computer and the LED I have connected to Port 13 started flashing like it should.
So I did the happy dance for a few minutes* and then downloaded the software.
I opened Blink and changed the delay to 500 so I could tell it worked and then clicked upload, got an error, checked the troubleshooting, blah blah blah...
I found device manager, and under ports it only showed COM1. On the Arduino program, I checked and also the only port shown was COM1.
I've used tons of USB devices and have a decent amount of USB ports, so what's going on here and how do I upload programs? =(

*Okay, I didn't do the happy dance. Well, sort of. Heh heh.

Cheese is good

No. No. No. Cheese is not good. It's great.

It would appear that you failed to install the drivers for the UNO, so your PC can't see the USO.

Did you (try to) install the drivers? If so, how? What happened?

crowns you king of the world
Maybe I should read stuff before jumping right in and trying to figure it out on my own.
It works and I have successfully put my Uno in Seizure Mode. (Jumbo Ultra-Bright White LED at 25 milliseconds! Heck yeah!)
