In the last 20 years I have seen only one processor bug that caused a program to fail. So in doubt I always assume code is to blame. What made this one particular difficult was the length of my ISR. So thought that the ISR might be to blame as ISRs have a high chance to cause trouble. Thus I was ~3 weeks on the wrong track.
