Serial.read()

I got a question... I am working with the mit app inventor, and throught the bluetooth module I have managed to received information to my arduino uno, later I want to display that received data to a OLED Display with I2C communication. The app will send 3 different types of data when the button of each data is clicked in the app, therefore, since I want the display to show the data in a certain format, therefore the arduino must recognice the data that is receiving... I am new at this, and I have been working with this for a few days but I havent been able to find a viable solution... If anyone can provide me any reference or alternative to solve this problem I would be really glad.

Serial.read() reads one byte each time it is used

There are other Serial functions that read more than one byte.

See Serial - Arduino Reference

Have a look at the examples in Serial Input Basics - simple reliable ways to receive data.

Hello,

I am new at this, I am trying to get a signal from a connected via-Bluetooth app designed in Mit app inventor, the thing is, I have read about Serial.read() as a function to read on character of the signal at a time, and I need a way so that the Arduino can read a complete set of characters as a whole:

C121214DCJOJOJSC

For example, if I sent the above data from the app, the Arduino just detect and read "121214D" as a String and then "JOJOJS" as another string...

If anybody know something please let me know. Thank you!
