Im new here... so don't flame me too bad.
OK... I know I tried the cheap way out, but I was already in so deep, I thought it might just work.
I have a couple of XBee Explorer Mini USB To Serial Port Adapter Modules with the TL232rl chip which takes the ALDL signal and convert to USB for my laptop. (bought on ebay) This datastream is read by my laptop to tell me what the car engine is doing. I take the TX/RX and combine to 1 wire and other wire is ground... and is grounded. They work perfect and cant beat the price... but that is not my issue.
I also purchased the Xbee HC05 module which snaps on the adapter and I was hoping that the serial signal being sent, would be sent BT over the HC05 vs the usb cable.... NO LUCK. I have used a difference power source other than usb...again.. no luck.
What do I need to do to make this work?. The 232TL chips send the data over the USB, but once I plug in the XBEE BT into the adapter, the datastream stops and the BT will never send data. The BT connects to my droid/laptop, but again... no datastream. I have read I need to make master, slave, at mode, etc... really confused and lost with all the reading I have done.
