Serial TX multiplexing? Very noooooob question...

Hey!

I'm totally new to Arduino ( gosh i love it ) and to electronics in general.
Anyway, I have a really stupid question for you :

how can arduino control (for example) a serial LCD screen (two lines) AND a midi output AT THE SAME TIME?
Is that possible?

(i'm working on a diy midi interface, and i'd like to use an LCD screen as well)
Maybe my question is totally embarassing, but i can't find anything about this...

If you used the software serial library for the LCD and the hardware serial port for the midi out it should work fine.
