Servo motors cm*kg

Ciao to everyone,

we are lookig for a servo 360°.

The servo motor will be attached to the ceiling and we need that moves slowly.(a sort of ultraslow Ceiling fan)

We should use it to move an object that is distant about 50 cm and weighs 300g.

We are planning to use an aluminum bar of 50 cm, to which end is linked to the object.

Or use a bar of 70-100 with a counterweight of 300g or less , moving the central axis, obviously.

But the problem is …

Which servo motor is indicated for our purposes?
What kind of technical characteristics must have?
Where can we find at a good price ?
(We are in italy/ europe anyway)

thanks in advance
Onde

Most servos will barely do 180-deg [if you're lucky]. Check out what these guys have,

I think you need a stepper motor, not a servo.

You can move any amount of weight with a suitable gearbox

Can you define what "moves slowly" means in numbers?

Hi and thanks for the replies,

MarkT, for "moves slowly" = 10-12rpm MAX to 1rpm MIN , approximately.

I saw and red :

"... On a regular servo, the value controls the location itself. What you could do with? a regular servo, is increment the value in steps, and add a delay in the loop, but that would only slow it down. I don't know of its possible to increase the max speed... "

fungus, we already have these stepper motors, but they aren't enough strong, I think that because they will be too slow.

If someone have some idea, for me there aren't any problems to use any type of motor can be controlled by Arduino.

We need 10 of that…
Something like this: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9238 , perhaps he could operate?
Holding Torque : 2.3kg*cm are enough?

But it is dear!

Thanks

There will be quite a lot of static friction and axial-loading in a set up like you describe - a motor with
proper ball-bearings is going to make a difference.

Thanks MarkT,

Could you tell me a good engine with ball bearings?

If you had my same needs what would you do?

Gearbox.

Remember Archimedes:

You said you wanted slow... (I think you said "ultraslow")
