Servo over-shooting

Using the Example/Sweep sketch both my Nano and my Uno are rotating way beyond the stated 180 degrees. What's going on?

My guess would be that you have got a continuous rotation servo rather than a proper servo. If so then you cannot control its angle only its direction and speed of rotation

What happens if you write() 180 to the servo in loop() as the only code ?
