Servos do unwanted continuous rotation

Hi!
Just as mentioned above: I printed an Inmoov Arm, assembled everything an wanted to add the Code, but while testing with a servotester, I recognised, that 4 of my 5 servos start a continuous Rotation if i want to set them to a specific angle with the servo tester. All servos are MG996R (I know, cheap sh**). The one in the Video doing the correct movement is also a MG996R, but from a different brand. Is this Problem fixable, or are they simply unuseable in my case?

Thanks!

Hi.
It looks like you have continuous rotation servos.
You cannot set their position, the pot control sets their direction and speed.
Mid position of the pot should make the servos stop.

The MG996R is the metal gear version of the elcheapo, so a bit better.

Unfortunately, conversion back to proper 180Deg servo operation would be difficult, as there are a number of ways to make the servo, continuous rotation.

There's nothing wrong with MG996Rs. it just sounds like you have bought the wrong type of MG996R. It comes in two versions the standard positional servo and a continuous rotation version (sometimes called 360 degree). You wanted the standard version.

It is possible to convert a standard servo to a continuous rotation version but not the other way round. The continuous version doesn't contain some of the components needed. Send them back and get the correct version.
