setup() code skipped with NodeMCU

I’m trying to get my NodeMCU to connect to the wifi but for some reason the setup code looks like it’s completely skipped and only the loop code is running. When I run this code the serial monitor only displays “This is the loop”. I’ve been trying to play around but I can’t figure out why it’s not working. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, I’m trying to connect my NodeMCU to the wifi, but it seems that the setup code is completely skipped and only the loop code is running. This code displays “This is the loop” in the serial monitor over and over again. Any idea why I can’t get it to work?

Please don't get so angry. I'm new here and this is my first post. I didn't know it worked the first time.

Any help with my problem would be highly appreciated.

What happens if you increase the first delay() in setup to 2000 milliseconds ?
