hello.
i have hacked the mega 2560 reset to gnd jumper.
in order to use the arduino com for the xctu setup.
jumpers are as follows :-
5v arduino > 5v xbee
gnd arduino > gnd xbee
Tx0 arduino > Dout xbee
Rx0 arduino > Din xbee
(the arduino is recognized over one of the com ports)
unfortunatelly there is no sign of the xbee over the xctu scanner.
can anyone think of whats wrong here?

To use the Arduino to configure the XBee, you must remove the ATMega chip. Get your soldering iron out. Or, buy the right kind of device.

But
i have more the one examples , including demo video tutorial that instructs to short ground to reset pin
and SO to bypass the chip.
further more , i am using the 2560 mega board which has the chip fix in an unremovable manner,
