seven segment LED display (3361BS)

A colleague picked up something very similiar (the same?) as this component: http://www.lc-led.com/View/itemNumber/351

She got it at Creatron, here in Toronto. I can't find any resources that explains documents the interface. There are twelve pins on the back of it, and the the link above has a partial datasheet that seems to explain how the LED segments are numbered, but nothing else. I have to head out now. I'll just start experimenting with it later tonight, but if anyone has better documentation of these things, would totally appreciate any pointers.

What else are you expecting from that data sheet? It seems to be fine to me.

Okay, looking more closely, it's starting to make sense. What confused me was the common anode setup. I guess each digit corresponds to pins 12, 9 and 8, then you have the micro sink the pins for the relative segments of the digit?

If you want each digit to be different, do you loop from 12 to 9 to 8? Presumably the frequency is high enough that you don't really see a flicker?

Yes and Yes. Try searching for 'multiplexed 7 segment leds' and you should turn up something.
