I bought a SparkFun Colour LCD Shield some months ago now and had a lot of trouble getting it to work. It seems I am in the minority and have a Philips chipset.
Anyway I eventually stumbled across some code (sorry to the author I can’t find a link to your site anymore :() which was based on the original library written by Mark Sproul, and Peter Davenport. It at least compiled for me (Arduino 0022), and showed some life on my shield. I was then able to modify it so that it worked correctly for my shield and changed it so that it compiles on Arduino 1.0 IDE.
I have changed the library - simplified it so that it works for the Philips chipset only - that is if you have a shield with the Epson chipset this code is not likely to work for you - consider yourself warned
I now offer it back to the community.
