Should AI be able to generate stories and movie scripts?

the obvious benefit is software that will enable the user to request the AI produces a tailored film for him.

he could choose plot, characters, plot time frame, and locations, all the way to the very minute details, while filtering out
things he doesn't like.

on the other what is the point of creating an AI if we simply get a replica of humans?

in this case the risk is:
AI couch potatoes,
AI gossiping
AI fabricated stories
AI lies/deception
AI fluffed go around explanations.
, and even nagging or pointless debating.

wouldn't an ideal AI GF be more animalistic and less human?

Which Arduino would be used for the AI ?

Raspberri Pi + elegoo

I don't think that AI generated films would be that different from mainstream crap that NI generates, nor would AI generated news be any different from the fairytails you get bombarded with every day.

All the above are already implemented....

You do know how many years a good movie takes don't you?

Never'll happen....The is nothing elegant in a machine, get a robot to dance with the precision and skill a human can.

If we can't even properly understand the human body....How could we create the equivalent?

I understand your concern about the quality of AI-generated content, and it's true that some AI-generated works might lack the emotional depth and authenticity that many of us crave. In the film industry, there's an undeniable sense of artistry and human touch that makes certain movies resonate deeply with audiences. Similarly, the stories we encounter in the news often reflect a mix of reality and editorial perspectives, forming a complex narrative that can be both enlightening and challenging. While AI technologies have made significant strides in mimicking human creativity and generating content, the nuances of genuine human experiences and the intricate interplay of emotions and context are elements that still remain somewhat elusive for these systems. As a result, there's a risk that AI-generated films and news might fall short in capturing the raw essence of human storytelling and genuine journalistic depth, often leading to a perception of superficiality and detachment from reality.

I have reservations about the potential distinctiveness of AI-generated films when compared to the barrage of conventional content flooding our screens. There seems to be a concern that the creative offerings from AI might not be qualitatively different from what we often dismiss as mainstream mediocrity. Similarly, when contemplating the concept of AI-generated news, skepticism arises as to whether it would merely contribute to the proliferation of exaggerated narratives and fairytales that dominate today's media landscape. It's a challenging thought to grapple with, particularly when seeking a human touch that resonates beyond the monotony of mass-produced information.

Many skeptics argue that AI-generated films and news content may not differ significantly from the often formulaic and sensational content produced by human creators. They contend that AI, while capable of generating content efficiently, might struggle to inject the depth, emotion, and authenticity that humans bring to their work. This skepticism arises from the belief that AI lacks the innate creativity and intuition of human filmmakers and journalists, potentially leading to the production of content that mirrors the clichés and sensationalism often associated with mainstream media. In this view, AI might replicate the existing problems in content creation rather than offering a transformative alternative.

I’m not sure if there is already existing one specific AI tool, capable to produce entire tailored film. I think AI can generate stories and write movie scripts, but for making even short video, there should be used several AI tools. If you see how to create a storyboard, for example, it’s a few-stage process, despite it’s seemed easy. What to say abt movie?! It takes time, like @theeccentricgenius well noted. Perhaps, it’s not years, but weeks or months. The better quality you do, the more tools and time it takes. IMO AI is not a human replacer, but human's helper. At least so far

It will be able to write the script, create AI actors (and everything else in the movie) in an instant and you don't have to pay the writer, director, or actors or any support crew, etc. You might have to pay a small fee to whoever owns the software & computers/server farm).

While exploring the potential applications and ethical implications of AI in creative processes like filmmaking can be intriguing, it’s important to assess whether this discussion is relevant to an Arduino forum, which traditionally focuses on electronics, programming, and DIY projects involving Arduino hardware.

  1. Irrelevance to Arduino Specifics: The topic of AI-generated films and the nature of AI in replicating human behavior or creating "ideal" companions veers significantly from the core interests of the Arduino community. Arduino projects typically revolve around microcontrollers, sensors, and interfacing with physical hardware, not the complexities of AI software that can write films or simulate deep social interactions. Such discussions are better suited to forums dedicated to AI theories, ethics, or advanced programming outside the realm of microcontroller applications.
  2. Lack of Practical Application: Arduino's capabilities are rooted in physical computing. Discussions about AI, unless specifically related to integrating simple AI or machine learning models on Arduino platforms, offer little practical utility to most Arduino enthusiasts. The hardware limitations of Arduino boards make them unsuitable for heavy computational tasks required by advanced AI models described in your post.
  3. Misalignment with Community Goals: The focus of the Arduino community is on learning and sharing knowledge about electronics and programming. The theoretical and philosophical discussion of AI characteristics, such as making an AI "less human and more animalistic," does not contribute constructively to the community's goals of fostering innovation and practical problem-solving in electronics.
  4. Ethical Concerns and Misfocus: While ethical discussions about AI are necessary, the context of "AI girlfriends" being "more animalistic and less human" strays into ethically questionable and potentially offensive territory. Such topics might not only derail from the technical and educational purpose of the forum but also lead to polarized, non-constructive debates.

In conclusion, the Arduino forum is not the appropriate venue for in-depth discussions on AI film production or the anthropomorphic qualities of artificial intelligence. It would be beneficial to keep the forum’s discussions focused on Arduino-related projects and technologies, where members can offer more informed and relevant advice and insights. Such a focus ensures that discussions remain helpful and closely tied to the interests and expertise of the community members.

Moved to Bar Sport as that seems a more appropriate place for the discussion.

Moving of topics to the Bar Sport category must be based solely on the intent and behavior of the topic creator.

We may disagree with their viewpoint, but that should be responded to with facts, reason, and logic instead of a passive aggressive move to a joke category.
