Newbie here. I installed 8.1.12 on my Windows PC last year but never got around to using it.
Now I'm starting a project and downloaded 8.1.13.
Should I delete 8.1.12 before I install 8.1.13 ...
Or will 8.1.13 install properly on top of 8.1.12 ?
Thanks for any help.
PS I searched the forum for "Uninstall before Updating" before posting but that didn't return the straight answer I was looking for... thus, this post. Thanks again for any help as I'm excited about finally getting into the Arduino as well as the ESP32.
I download the ZIP versions and extract them to a folder, that way I have older versions for old code & libraries that are not V1.x.x compatable.
Is the Arduino IDE a "stand alone" application (aka portable application)...
Meaning that it doesn't need to be "installed" you just put the files in a folder and run the program.
Thanks for any help.
Use the forum search for "ide standalone" or "ide portable".
The short answer is yes but you need to perform a couple of simple tasks to use it in portable mode.
