Side-by-side installations of Arduino IDE

Hi,

Two questions:

  1. I have different Arduino boards that need different IDE's. So I want to install: Arduino IDE 1.0.5 / Arduino IDE 1.5.6-r2 beta and Arduino for Galileo. Can I just install these different versions (both on Win8.1 and Mac/OSX) by installing them in their own directories/folders?

  2. Today I have installed just the Arduino IDE 1.0.5; to un-install this version (before installing the different versions as in question 1) should I on Windows 8.1 just uninstall the version using the "Control Panel" and on Mac/OSX move the folder in /Applications folder to Trash?

Yes I have those three in diffrent folders on my mac. No need to uninstall anything.
