nav-bar is covering Global-Close and preventing using the X.
Can you supply a screenshot please ?
And any steps you may have used to cause the issue ?
Also the screen resolutions being used ?

Steps to cause the issue, nothing, always there.
Screen resolutions 3840 x 1600, scale 150%.

It is hard to see any real issue there but I may be missing something.
Did you know you can also open AND close the central column by simply clicking on an item in the left column ?
eg. click where it says "examples" on the left and it should close the examples column.
Then click on "sketchbook" (or whatever you wish) and it will re-open the central column with the one you selected.
Just tested here and both the "X" and my help method both work.

Works now, did't work when reported earlier today, as I mentioned there was a div covering the X.
Mysterious but good result.
