Sim racing handbrake with potentiometer and Arduino Uno

Hello people from the Arduino Forum, I want to build an analog handbrake with a potentiometer and a Uno board. My idea was to use the potentiometer as an axis and assign it as the handbrake in game, but I cannot make the arduino work as a controller for my computer. I asked in another forum for a solution and someone suggested me to use Unojoy, but I could not make it work. Can anyone give me some help? I am very new into electronics and I know only the basics. Thanks for your attention!

You need to tell us more about all this.

What does a controller for your computer usually do? How is it interfaced? Etc....

Is this for a PC game? Why not just use one axis of a plain old USB joystick?
