SIM7600 Shield Not Connecting

This shield is supposed to connect to 4G network, for which I inserted a valid SIM card.

I have independently powered the shield from a 2 Amp, 5 volt supply. I have attached antenna firmly.

I have tried the shield with the UNO for which it is designed and standing alone.

The "net" light illuminates solidly for 30-60 seconds but never gets to the slow blink that indicates a connection to the 4G, or any, network.

It seems like I need a network connection before any of the AT programming steps or any debugging can be performed.

Yep, you’re doing the right things.

Ignore the Arduino, use the manual power-on button if there is one.
It should wake up and connect within about 20-30 seconds. If it’s the first power-on in a new location, it can take a little longer, but not forever.

The next step is to plug into the modem’s USB port, to watch the initialisation progress.

The following choices are -
Low supply current (needs up to 2A for a moment during cell negotiation)
Low signal, check your antenna.
Invalid or PIN locked SIM card

lastchancename: Thank you very much for response. Beyond pluggin in, can you please let me know what I need to do to see the initialization through the modem USB on my Macbook?

Thanks for suggestion, but I dont really understand. Are you talking about updating the Arduino library files? Not sure how to do that, but there is no serial monitor output from the UNO. The SIM7600 will not even connect to the 4G network.

I’m no real help for mac, but the principles are the same…
(last time I owned a Mac was in about 1982 !)

I’ll dig around a bit.
