Sim800l module Power supply

Hello, I have a sim800l module here. The Power supply it requires says 3.4v to 4.5v. Normally I can do a diode off of the 5v and bring it down to 4.7v which is not bad. however I do not have any diodes at the moment. I'm unsure on what I can use for testing to make sure this module works. Also I would use an 18650 battery which would give me at full max 4.2v. I currently don't have any. Is there another way I can give it power without killing it off or using 5v? I have resistors and capacitors of all kinds but that is all.

If you mean powering the module from the Arduino's 5volt pin, then forget about it.
The module requires 2 Amp peak during transmit, which is too much for any Aduino or USB.
A LiPo battery is the only way.
Go to a place where they recycle old cellphones. The LiPo batteries in them are usually ok for short-lived experiments like this (the module will soon be obsolete).

Hello wawa, I don’t have any old laptop batteries or lipo batteries at all.

Well, you are an old poster here, you should "know the ropes".

Just put it way until you can get what is needed.

That is one way to put it.

I know I know I’m forgetting things. you are right but with that much current needed not sure what I could use.

Sunday night came early this week.

Lol yes for me.

My friend sending only a lipo battery and charger for it.
