Hi!
I'm a junior high teacher and i've come up with this project for students: We strip down cheap RC-cars and make robot cars using basicly just using arduino and H-bridge IC.
The problem is that the current draw seems to be too high. The arduino keeps booting, especially when the car steers: as you can guess the steering mechanism is actuated by a regular motor and it either goes left(ish) or right(ish).
It works fine when it's powered by usb but when one hooks up a 9V battery arduino just keeps booting. Is there any neat workaround or should i just use two 9 V batteries in parallel?
Motor shield is out of the question (as you can guess we're kinda short on money) and all overly complex solutions are out of the picture.
Damn shame: this seemed like a great project for kiddos but now it seems it's backfired somewhat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
