Simple Ground Question

So I'm new to the arduino etc. I bought a music shield for the arduino, but when I connect it to the arduino it blocks the ground pin. If I want to connect anything to the other pins, what do I use as ground? Does adding shields make the arduino a one use device, in this case a music player? I'd like to connect some other things like LEDs and servos. I'm sure I'm missing something.

Thanks!

Does your 'music shield' have female header connectors on it's component side that passes through all the shield pins from the arduino? Perhaps if you could post a link to your music shield we might better understand what you are working with?

Doh! Should have known to include that. I'm using the Seed Studio Music Shield. Music Shield | Seeed Studio Wiki

The arduinos I can use are the Uno and the Mega. I'd probably be using the Mega since all the pins are used on the Uno.

Thanks!

Yes it looks like that shield uses all the pins but two so there is not much point in bringing them out.
You can solder a ground onto the shield or take your ground on a wire from the arduino on something like the input power jack.
