Hey all,
I'm an absolute rookie when it comes to this stuff and I'm looking to learn a little more, I also want to make sure I don't buy stuff that I don't need.
I'm working on a project that will have two lights side by side, I need to control these lights over a network programmatically.
Basically I would send a command to the switch to either turn on the right or left light, and after a few seconds the light would automatically shut off. The light would be an extremely bright outdoor type light, I’m not sure what kind of light it will be yet (we might use yellow strobes), but assume it will be a light that takes external power and draws 50W or more.
I’m assuming I will at least need a Arduino Uno and an Arduino Ethernet shield, but looking for any advice on putting this together.
I was also thinking of maybe designing it in such a way where the electrical device that’s connected to is irrelevant. For example, using two AC plugs where the power can be shut off to them independently, then the user could plug in anything they want. The AC plug would just plug into a normal AC socket, all the Arduino would be doing is turning off, or on the power to the AC plugs.
Thanks
