Simple Project

I'm trying to do a project where you program the arduino to collect data from a temperature sensor. I'm brand new to this code and I've done a bit with Mathmatica and Latex, but that's my only coding experience. This is all I've written so far

const int sensorPin = AO; const float baseline = 20.0; void setup(){ Serial.begin(9600);//open a serial port

I hit Verify to see if I was doing anything right and got this error, error: 'AO' was not declared in this scope In function 'void setup()': error: expected '}' at end of input

Analog input pin zero is called "A0" (A-zero), not "AO" (A-O).

in your programme, you should include :

void setup() {
  // put your setup code here, to run once:

}

void loop() {
  // put your main code here, to run repeatedly:

}
const byte sensorPin = A0; // it is A0(A zero) A=analogue  use byte  for your pins

const float baseline = 20.0;
void setup() // code inside { } is only executed once
{ // the beginning of the setup   open it with {
  Serial.begin(9600);//open a serial port
}// the end of the setup   close it with } <--- you forgot to close it with this

void loop()
{
  //put your code here to run repeatedly
}
