Simple question - breaking out lines before shield

If I'm using a shield like a WiFi shield or LCD shield (or both), even on a Mega they obscure many of the pins, even unused ones.

Is there some kind of standard approach or device that will allow me to break those lines out sideways or somehow so that I can make use of them "below" the upper shields?
